Why is that foundation broken?

I start with this question, Psalms 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

BUILD IT !! 

When a foundation is broken, what happens to the building,? it collapses. 

We've been called to build so we grapple with a torn foundation.

We youths, we've been called to build our society, our church, our family etc. 

You can't be there sitting idle and watch things go south. 

We're the life wire of our society, we're still in our effervescence and vigor, we should show it. 

John 21:18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

🌞 WE'RE POWERFUL. 

Lemme start by establishing the fact that we are POWERFUL. 

We can achieve what we set our heart to do. 

God's DNA is in us. 

Daniel 11:32 b: but the people that do know their God shall be STRONG, and do exploits.

Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 

 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.  

 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.  

 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.  

 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

TYPES OF BUILDERS

FAMILY BUILDERS 

There's a foundation in a family that's why when broken we start hearing things like family clash, rift, ancestral patterns, negativities, spiritual attacks etc. This is a faulty foundation that needs to be built. And We're all part of a family. 

❤️ It's the foundation you build now that coming generations would enjoy. 

KING DAVID made ruling easier for king Solomon, he fought all the battles. 

Solomon had so much rest that he had time and strength to build God a temple. 

If you don't stand up and rebuild your faulty foundation, you would give work to the next generation. And they won't have time to do God's work because they are toiling under a broken foundation and fighting spiritual battles. 

1 Kings 5:4 But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.  

5:5 And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name.

❤️ BE YOUR FAMILY BUILDER: Break ancestral patterns. 

Ezekiel 18:2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 18:3 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel.

🌞 ZELOPHEHAD'S DAUGHTERS 

Numbers 27:1‭-‬8 NKJV

Then came the daughters of Zelophehad the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, from the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. And they stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, and before the leaders and all the congregation, by the doorway of the tabernacle of meeting, saying: “Our father died in the wilderness; but he was not in the company of those who gathered together against the Lord, in company with Korah, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons. EMPHASIS 

Numbers 27:8 NKJV

And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.

- Yes your family members die at age 40 and you're there expecting your own death.? Error!! 

- You came and met that the female in your house die during child birth and you do nothing about it? 

- They have this particular disease. 

- They run mad

- They are alcoholics. 

- They are addicts

Your family are IDOL WORSHIPPERS and they are saying they would hand over the baton to you, and you do nothing about it? Error!

 ☀️STORY OF GIDEON 

Judges 6:25 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: 6:26 And build an altar unto the LORD thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down. 6:27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said unto him: and so it was, because he feared his father's household, and the men of the city, that he could not do it by day, that he did it by night. 6:28 And when the men of the city arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was cast down, and the grove was cut down that was by it, and the second bullock was offered upon the altar that was built. 6:29 And they said one to another, Who hath done this thing? And when they enquired and asked, they said, Gideon the son of Joash hath done this thing. 6:30 Then the men of the city said unto Joash, Bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.

You're sleeping, your mother is praying at midnight and you're snoring your destiny away. Stand up! 

The baton is switching. You're no longer a toddler. 

Parents too, make we dey involve our children in spiritual exercise.

NATION BUILDERS 

Isaiah 58:12 GNBUK

Your people will rebuild what has long been in ruins, building again on the old foundations. You will be known as the people who rebuilt the walls, who restored the ruined houses.”

We're the light 💡 of the world, show the world how it is done. Don't follow them. Don't be conformed to this world.

Police and bribe. 

Won't pass a student without bribe. 

Hospitals won't attend until you deposit. 

Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

• You do not need to be a president to make a change 

Start small, challenge faulty systems. 

- Malpractice 

- fraud 

- Bribe

- don't sell fake 

- excel in your place of work or business. 

- Don't follow others to cheat the system. 

How can we shift the culture when we're following the crowd. Dare to be different.

🌞 NEHEMIAH 

 Nehemiah was a nation builder. 

Amidst the storm (Sanballat and Tobiah) he persisted. 

Nobody told him to go build the city, he was proactive. You don't have to wait to be sent before you go. (step in the water and the flow will stop (Jordan) 

Nehemiah 1:2‭-‬5‭, ‬11 NKJV

that Hanani one of my brethren came with men from Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews who had escaped, who had survived the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem. And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.” So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for many days; I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven. And I said: “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” For I was the king’s cupbearer.

and said to the king, “May the king live forever! Why should my face not be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire?” And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, I ask that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathers’ tombs, that I may rebuild it.”

 

❤️ Queen Esther was a nation builder. 

She took the risk. (if I perish, I perish) 

Being a builder takes audacity.

KINGDOM BUILDERS 

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Let our generation step up, let's show God he can trust us. Reverend Uma Ukpai died some weeks ago. 

Eli handed over to Samuel and Samuel did a great job. 

Elijah handed over to Elisha and Elisha nailed things (double of what Elijah did). 

Moses handed over to Joshua and Joshua was the one who led the children of Israel to possess the promised land. He did a great job still.

2 Corinthians 11:23‭-‬28 NLT

Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again. Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. I have traveled on many long journeys. 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 

 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Examples 

- How often do you go for evangelism. Evangelize in your place of work. 

- which person can say they ate food on a particular day because of you? 

- how often do you sow into God's work.? 

- who are you mentoring? 

- who are you interceding for?

- are you in any service unit in your church? 

- do you study the word and pray? (out of the abundance you have, you give)

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE BUILDER 

1. Diligently follow God's instruction. Study God's word and apply. God is our architect, we're the Builders. He already has a plan mapped out, all you need to do is follow the plan. 

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 

7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 

2. They boldly face challenges head on. (Nehemiah, David, Esther, etc) 

3. They start early: Lamentations 3:27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth. (Samuel) 

4. Prepares the next generation; Judges 2:10‭-‬12‭, ‬14 NKJV

When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.

Bribing your lecturer so you can pass that course you didn't write well. 

Sleeping with your girlfriend 

Scrolling through social media aimlessly. 

Refusing to study of my book. 

Not preaching to your pagan colleague 

A person Waiting to die at 40 years since they said that's the time they die in the persons family. 

A person Expecting brain tumor to happen to him since that's what killed their grand mom and mother.? 

Making godly and quality friends

SENSITIZE THE NEXT GENERATION: Teach them about God. 

Deuteronomy 6:5‭-‬9 NKJV

 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your CHILDREN 🧒 , and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

 

Judges 2:10‭-‬12‭, ‬14 NKJV

When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel. Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals; and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger. And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.

Judges 2:15 NKJV

Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were greatly distressed.

- ❤️Give them room to anchor aspects of church services / devotion. 

Let them fail in your presence so you can correct them. It's better than them failing when you're no longer on earth.
