The Believers Authority

As believers God has given us various authorities we can wield here on earth.

Like royalty (prince), our king is God, and he's bestowed various power and authority on us.

Example a bound elephant

Satan wants us to be like that elephant.

The toddler of a king does not know that he can command servants to go on errand for him 'cos he's not yet knowledgeable.

2 Corinthians 10:8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed:

--> 👉 Note that the authority is only available to believers. Those that have accepted christ a door of great possibilities would be open to you.

- Get threatened by someone telling you you're disturbing him while praying and cos of that you won't wake up from sleep tonight

- get sleep paralysis

- have bad dream of death, demons, etc.

- family patterns of death by accident at the age of 40.

- family history of sickness

1. Authority over Satan and his cohorts -

You have the authority to stop the operation of demons or demonic activities in your life and the life of others, you're are fully endowed with the ability to cast out demons. They fear before you 'cos they don't see you but they see God.

🙌 Nobody can bully a child when the father is standing behind the child.

Jesus casted out a lot of demons to show that we also have such authority.

Matt 17:14-21

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

2 Corinthians 2:14 KJV

Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causeth us to TRIUMPH in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

James 4:7

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Isaiah 54:15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Psalms 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

1 Corinthians 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

2. Authority Over Sin & Addictions

If you're struggling with sin or addiction, you're still ignorant of the power within you to live above sin.

After salvation, you just don't get off sin at once, you start little by little.

Cry out to God, He'll help you out. You have the authority. God has given us his spirit to help us live above sin. Don't rely solely on your flesh to help you, rely on God.

For example, Struggling with a smoke addiction? challenge that addiction with your authority in Christ. Most addictions are demonic.

1 John 5:18 NCV

We know that those who are God’s children do not continue to sin. The Son of God keeps them safe, and the Evil One cannot touch them.

Galatians 5:16

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

Ephesians 4:22-24

“That ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

Philippians 4:13

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

James 4:7

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

3. Authority to heal the sick

Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Peter (an ordinary man like us all) heals the man at the beautiful gate being his first miracle.

Acts 3:1-8

Start by praying for that headache, that malaria, that body pain. You would see God's work in you.

4. Authority to raise the dead: the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.

Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

God told you to heal the sick because he's given you the authority to, if you don't exercise it you just may not know what you're capable of.

Men of like passions like Elijah, Elisha, Paul, raised the dead. You also can.

Don't look at your capability, look at the lion in you.

5. Authority to Minister Blessings

You have the authority to use God's prophetic word to minister to your life. Speak life of God's word into your situation.

Speak the word, there's power in your tongue.

John 6:63 the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 15:3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Proverbs 6:2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

Boldly Speak to your situation to cause a change.

You're the light of the world

You're the salt of the earth

You would fulfil your days

You will not bring forth for trouble

You will finish your assignment

6. Authority to change situation with prayer.

Don't cower off in defeat if something ain't working for you, shut yourself up and pray to God.

You can even minister the holy spirit to someone. To pray for someone to receive the holy spirit with an evidence.

How to walk in your Authority.

1. Have unwavering faith: Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

You can build your faith by coming to church, reading the word, listening to testimonies, reading the word,

B) Study the word: the word is your manual that exposes you to more of your authority in Christ. It gives you more confidence.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.

2. Fast and pray: charge up yourself. Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

1 Corinthians 14:4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

3. Step out in faith, take action

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
